Pastor's December 2020 Newsletter

It is hard to believe it but it's Christmas! I want you to get excited because as we get to know God, we get to know His people and his awesome divine plans for our lives.   Indeed, Christmas is about Jesus.

Every Sunday, we will be talking about Christmas characters and learn from their stories, like the shepherds who never took opportunities for granted, the wise kings who sought Jesus no matter what the cost, Zecharias who despite knowing God intimately, doubted him and suffered. many consequences.   Don't forget to join us every Sunday at 1pm at MBC Sanctuary and bring your friends.

Small groups will be very interesting this month.  It's a place of fellowship, prayer, sharing, and learning.  And above all, small groups are your extended family for this Christmas.  This is perfect if you are by yourself.  If you are not part of any small group, now is the time and sign in.

This month we are going to serve in many ways.  We will partner with our mother church, Mililani Baptist Church, for Christmas events on Dec 13, Christmas Cantata, and Dec 24, Christmas Eve Service both at 6:15pm.  We will host the inter-church Filipino Pasko sa Nayon on Sunday, December 20, at 1pm.  Get excited for your kids as we teach them the Christmas ukulele and youth on Christmas handbell.

Finally, December is the month where we talk about money matters.   The church will vote on the 2021 budget and also challenge the church to pledge to give.  Consider Fil-Am for your year-end giving before December 31.

Before I let you go, I was blessed to receive a thank you to one of the kids whom our children's church had time to minister in the midst of lockdown.  Here is what he wrote partially,

"My friend, ... has been going through some hard times since his parents got divorced.  I decided to take some time from studying and doing homework and facetime calls with him every single day talking about the word of God.  Isaiah 12:2 states, "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."  I remember the zoom bible study meetings we would have before school started and I remember that bible verse specifically because of what is happening to all the covid-19 infected people.  I remember hiking and doing fun activities with the youth group also.  ... Happy Thanksgiving!"

The ministry this boy attended was Fil-Am's Children's Ministry and thanks to your giving and faithful involvement that we did what so few churches were doing.

Thank you again and may we have a blessed December Christmas celebration.

In His Service,

Pastor Bong Abagon
